Description
Private Thomas Armstrong, Gordon Highlanders.
Official intimation has been received by Mrs Thompson, 11 Scott's Street, Annan, that her brother, Private Thomas Armstrong, Gordon Highlanders, has died of wounds received in action. Private Armstrong joined the Army in 1905, and was drafted with his regiment to India. On the outbreak of was he was transferred to another battalion of the 'Gordons', and crossed over to Flanders, were he was wounded on two occasions. After recuperating he was again sent to France, ad on this occasion his wounds were so severe that he succumbed at the No. 3 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station. Deceased, who was thirty-one years of age, was the third son of the late Mr John Armstrong, Lowerthertown.
