Description
Official information was received on Tuesday afternoon by Mr W. Walker, Queensberry Street, Annan, that his son, Private James Walker, had died in hospital at Cairo on 9th August from wounds received in action at the Dardanelles on 12th July. Private Walker, along with his brother, Thomas, were members of the 1/5th K.O.S.B. (Territorials), and on mobilisation were employed at Newbie Engineering Works. Private Thomas Walker is at present lying in Netley Hospital also suffering from severe wounds received in the same fight. The deceased soldier was in his eighteenth year.
